Whiteline bushing grease for your UNIVERSAL PRODUCTS GREASE is formulated to keep polyurethane suspension bushes moving smoothly and quietly. Applied when fitting new bushes, or when servicing existing ones, it reduces friction between the bush and its sleeve, prevents squeaking and binding, and helps the bush deliver the precise control it was designed for.
Whiteline Ezy Grease comes in single-use sachets for individual bush kits and a 500 g tub for workshops and larger jobs. It?s the same grease supplied with Whiteline bush kits, so you can top up, re-service or complete a job with confidence.
Why your UNIVERSAL PRODUCTS GREASE Bushes Need Grease
Rubber bushes and polyurethane bushes work in different ways. Most rubber bushes are bonded to their inner and outer sleeves, so the rubber twists internally as the suspension moves. There?s no sliding surface, and therefore nothing to lubricate.
Polyurethane bushes are much firmer and aren?t bonded. Instead, the bush pivots around its inner sleeve or bolt, and the flange faces move against their mounting surfaces. These are sliding contact points, and like any sliding joint, they need lubrication.
Without the right grease, polyurethane can grip the metal and release it in small jumps. That causes the familiar creak or squeak from poly bushes, along with binding that makes the suspension feel stiff and less compliant. It also causes wear on the bush surfaces, shortening bush life. A suitable grease keeps every pivot moving freely, so the bush can control movement as intended without noise or harshness.
Whiteline Bushing Grease Formulation
Whiteline Ezy Grease is formulated from a reinforced No. 2 lithium complex base, with selected additives including molybdenum disulphide.
- Lithium complex base: gives a stable, tacky grease that stays where it?s applied, even with the constant small movements of a suspension bush.
- Molybdenum disulphide (moly): a solid lubricant that provides extreme-pressure protection, reducing friction and wear at highly loaded contact points.
- High drop point (230?C minimum): the grease stays stable at the temperatures suspension components reach in hard use, including near brakes and exhausts.
Together, these properties give mechanical stability and long-lasting lubrication in a grease made for suspension bush applications.
Choosing a Compatible Lubricant
Not every lubricant is suitable for suspension bushes. Some general-purpose products can damage bush materials or simply fail to last.
Avoid petroleum oils and solvent-based products such as engine oil, light machine oil, petroleum jelly, penetrating sprays and degreasers. These can soften or swell bush materials, wash existing grease out of the bush, or evaporate quickly, leaving the surfaces dry.
Avoid thin spray lubricants as a long-term fix for squeaks. They may quieten a bush briefly, but they don?t stay in place under load and the noise soon returns.
Use a grease specified for your bushes. Whiteline Ezy Grease is formulated for use with Whiteline polyurethane bushes. If you?re servicing another brand of bush, check that manufacturer?s lubrication recommendations first.
Ezy Grease Pack Sizes
10 Sachet Pack
Ten individual sachets, each holding enough grease for a typical bush kit. Sachets keep the grease clean until use, and they?re easy to carry in a toolbox. This pack suits home mechanics fitting a few kits, or keeping spare grease on hand for servicing.
50 Sachet Pack
Fifty sachets for workshops and enthusiasts who fit bushes regularly. Single-use portions keep each job clean and reduce waste, with no risk of contaminating a shared tub.
500 g Tub
A 500 g tub for high-volume workshops, fleet servicing and larger projects such as a full suspension rebuild. The tub makes it easy to apply grease generously during a complete bush replacement and to keep stock for regular maintenance.
How to Apply Bushing Grease
Always follow the instructions supplied with your bush kit, as some bushes have specific lubrication requirements. As a general guide:
- Clean all metal surfaces first, removing old grease, rust and grit from sleeves, bolts and mounting faces.
- Apply grease to every surface where the bush moves against metal, such as the bore of the bush, the inner sleeve or bolt, and the flange faces.
- Work the grease into any grooves moulded into the bush bore. These act as reservoirs that hold grease over the long term.
- Assemble the bush and tighten fasteners to the manufacturer?s specification, wiping away any excess grease once fitted.
When servicing existing bushes, dismantle the joint, clean off the old grease and dirt, then re-grease the same contact surfaces before reassembly. On greasable assemblies fitted with grease nipples, follow the service intervals recommended for that component.
Signs Your UNIVERSAL PRODUCTS GREASE Bushes Need Re-Greasing
- Squeaking or creaking from the suspension over bumps, speed humps or driveways
- Noise that?s worse in cold weather, or after driving through water
- Suspension that feels stiffer or less settled than it did when the bushes were fitted
- Dry, dusty or contaminated grease visible at the edges of a bush
Re-greasing restores quiet operation and protects the bush from wear, which is far quicker and cheaper than replacing a bush that has been left to run dry.
Who Bushing Grease Suits
Whiteline bushing grease suits home mechanics fitting Whiteline polyurethane bushes, and workshops carrying out suspension upgrades, restorations and servicing. It?s also the right choice for anyone servicing noisy or binding polyurethane bushes, and for owners of vehicles driven in wet, dusty or demanding conditions, where regular bush maintenance keeps the suspension working at its best.
