Keep your factory self-levelling headlight system working as intended after lifting your 300 Series LAND CRUISER with Whiteline headlight sensor brackets. Designed for selected lifted applications, these brackets correct the mounting or linkage position of the rear headlight height sensor to account for the change in suspension height.
A suspension lift can affect more than springs, shock absorbers and wheel alignment. On vehicles equipped with automatic headlight levelling, changing ride height can also alter the relationship between the body, suspension and height sensor. Whiteline headlight sensor brackets provide an application-specific way to account for that change while retaining the factory self-levelling system.
What Does a 300 Series LAND CRUISER Headlight Height Sensor Bracket Do?
A headlight height sensor bracket changes the position or relationship of the factory headlight height sensor linkage after suspension height has been increased.
Self-levelling headlight systems use vehicle height information to help control headlight aim as vehicle attitude and load change. On compatible vehicles, a rear-mounted sensor and linkage form part of this system.
Lifting the suspension changes the geometry around that sensor. Whiteline's bracket solutions allow lifted vehicles to retain the factory self-levelling headlight function and help keep the headlights within specification under different driving conditions.
These components don't replace the sensor, headlight assembly or electronic control system. Instead, they work with the original height sensor arrangement to account for the changed suspension setup.
Why Can a Lift Affect Your 300 Series LAND CRUISER's Self-Levelling Headlights?
A suspension lift changes the static relationship between your 300 Series LAND CRUISER body and suspension components. Where a self-levelling headlight system relies on a suspension-mounted height sensor and linkage, that change can alter the sensor's mechanical reference position.
The system may therefore need its sensor linkage or mounting position corrected for the new suspension height.
This can potentially contribute to incorrect headlight levelling after a lift, including headlights that appear to aim differently from before the suspension modification. However, headlight aim shouldn't be diagnosed from ride height alone. Sensor faults, linkage damage, incorrect adjustment and other headlight system issues can also affect operation.
Whiteline's application-specific brackets are designed to correct the relevant sensor mounting or linkage arrangement after lifting, allowing the factory self-levelling system to continue operating with the modified suspension height.
Which 300 Series LAND CRUISER Headlight Sensor Bracket Do You Need?
Whiteline uses several bracket configurations depending on the original sensor arrangement and suspension setup. These parts aren't universal, so vehicle and suspension fitment should be confirmed before installation.
Headlight Sensor Bracket Spacers
One configuration uses a headlight sensor bracket spacer with the required mounting hardware.
The spacer changes the relevant mounting position to account for the increased ride height without replacing the factory height sensor itself. This provides a relatively simple mechanical correction where the compatible application requires a change in bracket position.
Headlight Height Sensor Adjuster Brackets
Other applications use a dedicated headlight height sensor adjuster bracket.
These brackets alter the relationship between the factory sensor linkage and the suspension after lifting. The required bracket depends on your 300 Series LAND CRUISER and suspension configuration, so visually similar parts shouldn't be treated as interchangeable.
Some headlight sensor bracket fitments are also designed around specific suspension components. If your setup uses other modified suspension arms or related geometry components, check the complete Whiteline fitment information rather than selecting the sensor bracket independently.
Multi-Purpose Bracket Extension Kits
Some lifted applications require more than one mounting point to be corrected.
Whiteline also uses a multi-purpose rear bracket extension solution that addresses the headlight sensor, sway bar links and brake line mounting within the same suspension setup.
This is important because each of these components can be affected differently when suspension height and travel change. The combined bracket solution should be used only where specified for the compatible application rather than treated as a universal lift accessory.
Do You Still Need a Headlight Aim Check After Fitting?
Yes. Installing the correct headlight levelling sensor bracket shouldn't be treated as confirmation that final headlight aim is automatically correct.
The bracket addresses the mechanical relationship between the height sensor and the lifted suspension. Final headlight aim and operation should still be checked after suspension modifications and installation.
Headlight aim requirements can also be subject to applicable vehicle and road regulations. Requirements vary according to your 300 Series LAND CRUISER, headlight system and jurisdiction, so avoid relying on a generic adjustment specification.
After fitting the bracket, check that the sensor linkage is correctly installed, moves without interference and that the self-levelling system operates normally. A qualified technician can then check the headlight aim and make any required adjustments according to the appropriate vehicle specifications.
If the headlights continue to behave incorrectly after the mechanical setup has been corrected, the underlying cause should be diagnosed rather than assuming further bracket adjustment will solve it.
Other Components to Check After Lifting Your 300 Series LAND CRUISER
Headlight sensor position is only one consideration when increasing suspension height. A lift can also change the available movement or mounting position of brake hoses, ABS wiring, handbrake cables and other suspension-related components.
Brake Line Kits can address brake hose mounting arrangements where additional movement is required. ABS Components can reposition or extend ABS wire mounting on compatible lifted applications, while Handbrake Parts address handbrake cable positioning where suspension travel would otherwise place additional tension on the cable.
Vehicles using a height-sensitive rear brake proportioning system may also require Brake Valve Linkage components so the system can be correctly adjusted for the changed ride height.
Depending on the suspension setup, related components such as Tailshaft Spacers, suspension arms and Sway Bar Links may also form part of the complete lift installation.
Each component solves a different issue, so don't assume that every lifted 4WD requires every correction. Use Whiteline's vehicle search and application information to determine what is specified for your particular suspension setup.

Keep your 300 Series LAND CRUISER's factory self-levelling headlights working properly after a 4WD lift with Whiteline headlight sensor brackets.
Use Whiteline's vehicle search to find the correct bracket or spacer for your suspension setup, particularly where the required solution depends on other suspension components fitted to your 300 Series LAND CRUISER.
Headlight sensor brackets belong to our chassis parts range, and a 4x4 lift kit is the usual reason they're needed.
After installation, have the headlight operation and aim checked to confirm everything is working as intended. If you're unsure which bracket suits your setup, contact the Whiteline team for fitment and technical assistance.
