These symptoms are not unique to axle bushes, so inspection is required before deciding they need replacement.

Possible signs include:

A car clunking over bumps does not automatically mean its rear axle bushes are worn.

Shock absorbers, wheel bearings, other suspension bushes, loose hardware, tyres or damaged suspension components can produce similar symptoms.
